Palliative Care
What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care focuses on easing pain and discomfort, reducing stress and helping people have the highest quality of life possible regardless of prognosis. Like hospice care, palliative care provides a holistic, interdisciplinary team approach to comfort and quality of life. Palliative care is available to people of any age, at any point after diagnosis, and doesn't depend on whether the condition can be cured. Palliative care can help patients manage symptoms, cope with side effects from treatments, and relieve stress for themselves and their families. It can also help patients continue with their daily lives and undergo medical treatments.
