Dignity & Hope Hospice and
Palliative Care

Birthday Party

Quality of Life

What does quality of life mean?  There is no simple answer because what quality of life means to one person may have a different meaning for someone else.  At Dignity & Hope, we develop a plan of care that is individualized and personalized for each patient identifying what is most important to them based on their values, wishes and goals.  Although hospice is a program specializing in end of life care, Dignity and Hope puts an emphasis on living!   We all will have an end of life journey but it's how we get to the end of that journey that counts.  Our caring, committed and compassionate team will walk alongside the patient and their family to set priorities and help achieve the best quality of life possible.

A Journal of Pain and Symptom Management study showed hospice patients lived an average of 29 days longer than those who were not receiving hospice services. And a study in the New England Journal of Medicine reported hospice patients were happier, more mobile, in less pain and lived nearly three months longer.
