Hospice vs. Palliative Care

pic 2.png
Hospice Care

Hospice is specialized care when a cure is no longer possible or the side effects of treatment outweigh the benefits.  Hospice care is provided to patients with a prognosis of six months, but can be more, or with a serious illness measured in months not years. Hospice care provides a holistic, interdisciplinary team approach focusing on comfort, dignity and quality of life.

Palliative Care

Palliative care focuses on easing pain and discomfort, reducing stress and helping people have the highest quality of life possible regardless of prognosis.  Like hospice care, palliative care provides a holistic, interdisciplinary team approach to comfort and quality of life.
